One ScanSnap unit can be used with multiple computers in which ScanSnap Home is installed, by connecting the unit and computers to the same wireless access point. For example, multiple team members in an office can use one ScanSnap unit by connecting their computers to the ScanSnap.

If each member creates a profile in ScanSnap Home, the profiles appears on the touch panel of the ScanSnap. By selecting the profile that you created after loading a document in the ScanSnap, the image created from the document that you scanned is saved automatically to the specified save destination.

  • Four licenses are allowed for each ScanSnap unit.

  • Up to 30 profiles can be managed with the ScanSnap. When one ScanSnap unit is used with multiple computers, keep the total number of profiles to 30 or less.

    If the message appears, stating that 'Up to 30 profiles can be registered. Delete some profiles.', delete as many profiles as the number of profiles which exceeded the limit on the computer that was used to create the profiles.

  1. Connect the ScanSnap to a wireless access point.
    1. Open the ADF paper chute (cover) of the ScanSnap to turn the power on.
    2. Press in the home screen on the touch panel of the ScanSnap to display the [Settings] screen.
    3. Press to display the [Wi-Fi settings] screen.
    4. Press [Wi-Fi connect mode] to display the [Wi-Fi connect mode] screen.
    5. Select [Access point connection].
    6. Press to return to the [Wi-Fi settings] screen.
    7. Press [Access point connection] to display the [Access point connection] screen.
    8. Press [Access point connect settings] to display the [Connection information configuration method] screen.
    9. Select [Select an access point].
    10. Press the [Next] button to display the [Select network] screen.
    11. From the list of displayed wireless access points, select a wireless access point that you want to connect to.
    12. Press the [Next] button to display the [Enter connection information] screen.
    13. Enter the information of the wireless access point to be used and press the [Next] button.

      The items which are displayed in the screen differ depending on the security protocol of the wireless access point.

    14. Press the [Complete] button in the [Check Connection Results] screen.
    15. Press to display the home screen.

    1. Press in the home screen on the touch panel of the ScanSnap to display the [Settings] screen.
    2. Press to display the [Scanner settings] screen.
    3. Check the scanner name that is displayed in [Scanner name].

    1. Click the [Scan] button in the upper left of the Main Window of ScanSnap Home to display the Scan Window.

      If the main window is not already displayed, click the [ScanSnap Home] icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock.

    2. Select [Add a ScanSnap] from the [Select a scanner] list.
    3. In the [ScanSnap Home - Connecting ScanSnap] window, select the ScanSnap model to be connected and then click the [Start setup] button.
    4. In the [ScanSnap Home - Connecting ScanSnap] window (Connection with the ScanSnap), select the scanner name of the ScanSnap to be connected, and click the [Next] button.
      • When an IP address is set for the ScanSnap, you can connect the ScanSnap to a computer by specifying the IP address. Terraria initial release date.

        Specify the IP address for the ScanSnap to be connected in the window that appears when you click [Using an IP address].

    5. When the [ScanSnap Home - Connecting ScanSnap] window (Connection is complete) appears, click the [Next] button.
    6. When the [ScanSnap Home - Connecting ScanSnap] window (Let's use it!) appears, check the contents and click the [Close] button.
  4. Connect all the computers that you want to use the ScanSnap with, to the ScanSnap.

    Perform step 3 on all the computers that you want to use the ScanSnap with.

  5. Modify the settings for a profile in ScanSnap Home on the computers connected to the ScanSnap.

    On each computer connected to the ScanSnap, add or modify a profile according to the purpose of the scan in ScanSnap Home.

    • Activating a license with a ScanSnap account enables each user to specify a user name, a color for the account, and a color for the icon of a profile.

    • It is easier to recognize the creator of a profile displayed on the touch panel of the ScanSnap or the scan window of ScanSnap Home by specifying the color for the icon of a profile for each user.

Multiple users can share a single ScanSnap unit. All profiles that are managed in ScanSnap Home on the computers connected with the ScanSnap are displayed in the profile list in the home screen on the touch panel.

  • You can also connect the ScanSnap by clicking the [Add] button under [Scanner information] in the [Scanner] tab of the preferences window. To delete the ScanSnap that you do not need, select the ScanSnap from the list of ScanSnap units and click the [Remove] button. It is also removed from the [Select a scanner] list in the scan window.

    To display the preferences window, select [Settings] [Preferences] from the menu.

  • You can also connect the ScanSnap by clicking the [Add] button under [Scanner information] in the [Scanner] tab of the preferences window. To delete the ScanSnap that you do not need, select the ScanSnap from the list of ScanSnap units and click the [Delete] button. It is also deleted from the [Select a scanner] list in the scan window.

    To display the preferences window, select [ScanSnap Home] [Preferences] in the menu bar.
